The morning light began to creep into the room, casting a soft glow over Anya and Elias, who lay intertwined in each other’s arms. Elias was still nestled inside her, peacefully asleep. His embrace was warm and secure, wrapping Anya in a cocoon of comfort. Just then, the shrill ring of Anya's phone pierced the serenity, echoing off the nightstand.
Slowly, Anya fluttered her eyes open, momentarily disoriented as she scanned the room. As she shifted to reach for her phone, she felt Elias slip out of her, eliciting a low, soft moan from her lips. Taking a deep breath, she sat up and grabbed the phone, slipping into a pair of shorts and a tank top. Just as she was about to stand up, Elias’s arm shot up, wrapping around her waist and pulling her back onto the bed.
“Stay, it’s too early!” he murmured sleepily, his breath warm against her neck. Anya chuckled at his request but settled back against him, enjoying the warmth for a moment longer.
Meanwhile, her best friend Lila’s voice crackled through the phone on the other end. “Girl, guess who I just saw!?”
Anya raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. “Who?”
A high-pitched scream of excitement erupted from Lila. “Do you remember Jake?!”
Anya’s heart raced at the name, recalling the charming boy from her past. “Yeah...”
“Guess what? I just met him this morning, and he wants to take you out on a date!” Lila’s voice was laced with enthusiasm.
Anya nearly choked on her own saliva, a rush of mixed emotions swirling within her. She could feel Elias's grip tighten around her waist, his body instinctively responding to her surprise. “Lila, I have a fiancé, remember!? I hope you didn’t tell him I’d go!”
There was a moment of silence before Lila continued, a hint of mischief in her tone. “Well, I might have mentioned that you’d go gladly on a date with him!”
Anya let out a frustrated sigh, her irritation simmering just beneath the surface. “Well then, my bestie, you go instead on the date and tell him I have a fiancé and that I’m taken, understand?” Her voice was stern, leaving no room for debate.
